Carlos Virseda is a results driven Engineering and Operations Manager in the energy sector, with hands-on management skills, a good business sense and a pragmatic approach.
Over the past 11 years, Carlos has held several senior roles with BP Solar in Spain. Most recently, he was responsible for leading the engineering activities for utility scale PV plants in Europe, Middle East and Australasia regions.
Specifically, Carlos was responsible for the solar PV project designs for over 40 projects with a total capacity of over 130MW. Additionally, he was responsible for the commissioning of these projects, including the two-year completion tests (under EPC contract commitments), and the O&M activities for European projects.
His skills include the close collaboration with the Project Delivery and Sales teams to provide feasible design offers, and to identify and quantify risks during the project life-time. He headed the resolution of unusual system failures in the field, identifying root causes, safety analysis and defined corrective actions to be implemented by the O&M teams.
Carlos was also responsible for technical validation and qualifications of new products (modules, inverters, cables, trackers, etc.)
With a Degree in Industrial Engineering, Carlos also holds a Masters in Advanced Manufacturing with Dissertation, and has completed a 1 year program in Engineering Management covering areas such as Engineering Design, Reliability and Risk, Inherent Safety, Engineering Leadership and Engineering for Business Value.
